Fried rice, a popular and much-loved dish, is easy to make. So, forget about your local Chinese take-out. We have you covered in this recipe with plenty of garlic, ginger and soy sauce. And if you want to add a little extra spice or shell fish, vegetable and/or meat, go ahead because this recipe is a terrific way to transform leftovers into something greater than the sum of its parts.
Although we sometimes think of certain ingredients being typical like eggs and garlic, the only things necessary to make fried rice are rice, heat and oil, everything else is totally up to you. So, go with a few ingredients or go big with lots of stuff, but regardless, this is a ‘spot-on’ authentic and delicious fried rice.
Chef's Note:
My advise with this recipe is, add plenty of delicious and healthy leftovers to this basic recipe and watch your everyday leftovers become something authentically Asian. There is enough basic ingredients in this recipe to lift-up whatever extras you choose to throw into it, be creative and, as always…, have fun with it.
